Central Oregon Market Report - September 28, 2022

I've met with several Sellers recently that are on the fence of listing their home now or waiting until Spring. There is also a third and not so popular option of selling during the Winter as well ;) I will make a few quick points to see if I can shed some light on the market outlook and your options moving forward. This time of year, you can expect to see the number of sales drop off a bit, but remember that this is in part due to several sellers removing their inventory from the market. Motivated Buyers are still out there and they are looking to beat the rising interest rates. Less inventory means less competition for you. Just take a look at how strong last Winter was! Lately, we have started seeing a decrease in prices and an increase in days on market, signaling that it has become more difficult to sell than it was 6 months back. That being said, we are still in a Seller's market and prices are holding pretty strong after our long time run up after COVID. Projections for next Spring show prices holding somewhat steady, but with so many factors at play, it's hard for me to tell exactly where we will end up. I always suggest aligning your move with your personal timeline instead of attempting to time the market.
