Central Oregon Market Report - June 11, 2025

More Deschutes County farm-zoned land on path to become rural housing

Plans to build 71 homes across 710 acres of juniper woodland and shrub steppe in rural Deschutes County moved closer to reality earlier this month.

The Central Oregon market is holding steady as we head into Summer. Inventory continues to build, especially in Deschutes County, which is approaching 1,500 active single-family homes—the highest we've seen in recent years. Recent stats show some oversaturation in the market over the past two months and listings are coming on faster than they are getting sold. While well-priced homes are still moving, new listings have slowed a bit this past week and days on market are creeping higher. Buyers are seeing more options and a bit more flexibility, but overall activity remains consistent and somewhat flat. The next few weeks will be worth watching, especially to see when inventory levels peak and how the buyer market holds out. Now is the time to take action on your plans, before the seasonal shift heading into late summer and fall. Let me know if you need any advice or guidance. - Greg
