It's no surprise that the market has been a bit slower lately and everyone seems to be holding out for the next spark to reignite the momentum we lost after COVID. The truth is, it's been sluggish for a few years now, ever since the rates increased. In order to gauge exactly what has happened since then and provide a big picture view of where we are at, I recently compared market performance, year over year, for the past three years.
In looking at this past month of January, compared to previous years, we have actually seen much better numbers and a pick up in the overall market. It may not seem very noticeable, but Bend is slowly chugging along and continues to keep it's foothold; not too hot, not cold, but a solid and normalized sales cycle. More deals are continuing to be put together year over year and this January we saw 161 closed sales and almost 10 new homes per day go under contract in Bend alone! This is a good sign that we are still moving in the right direction and keeping momentum.
