"Beacon report has Bend single family homes up 7% over last month!" Such a leap in prices has several home buyers concerned, but if you take a step back and look at the full picture these headlines can be put into better perspective. When looking at the median sales price, that number tends to move closer to the busier price ranges (not necessarily the overall cost of houses in general). Lack of inventory is still the key to alleviating this pain point.. The trend over the last year has been a shift from mid-market housing turnover, which is much more indicative of a normal market, to a market with more activity in higher priced homes. Our "ceiling" will be realized once inventory recovers, but the big question is still "when?". I will be sure to keep you updated along the way ;) Bottom line: There is a difference between overall affordability and available inventory in your price range.
